General Questions

Are Crest 3D Whitestrips Safe? With extensive research and clinical trials, Crest 3D Whitestrips are proven to be safe to use. The Whitestrips uses hydrogen peroxide to effectively whiten your teeth, the same key enamel-safe ingredient used by dentists.

Is It Safe to Use Whitening Toothpaste with Crest 3D Whitestrips? Yes, you can use whitening toothpaste along with Crest 3D Whitestrips to help maintain a whiter smile. The combined amount of peroxide from whitening toothpastes and Crest 3D Whitestrips will not cause any harm.

How do Crest 3D Whitestrips work? Crest 3D Whitestrips are flexible, thin strips coated in a tooth whitener containing peroxide designed to securely conform to the shape of your teeth and keep the tooth whitener in place. The Whitestrips are guaranteed to whiten teeth by removing 10 years of tough, set-in stains.

When will I start to notice results with Crest 3D Whitestrips? Results depend on different factors including your age, how yellow your teeth are and the strength of teeth whitening of the product. (Indicated in levels on the product package). Most people start seeing results after a few uses with full results upon completion. Please bear in mind that if you would like to see the best results you have to buy a full box of the product.

For some products we offer the option to buy less than a box. For example, the product Professional Effects is offered in the following options: 5, 7, 10 and a full box of 20 treatments. This is very useful for people who would like to maintain the level of whiteness and do not need to buy a full box.

How long will teeth whitening last? The length of time your teeth will stay whiter is influenced by several factors, including how often you drink coffee, tea, dark colas, red wine or smoke. After a full course of teeth whitening, the result will be visible for 12 months. It is recommended to use 2-3 treatments each month to maintain the level of whitening throughout the year.

What if I don’t see results after using the Crest 3D Whitestrips? Ensure that you follow recommended usage instructions on the packaging to get the optimal effect. If your teeth are significantly discolored, you may need to use 2 boxes of Crest 3D Whitestrips initially to get the desired result. We also recommend combine with Crest teeth whitening toothpaste for greater results. Please also bear in mind that a small percentage of the population is not affected by the active teeth whitening ingredient hydrogen peroxide. In this case most of the teeth whitening products on the market will not work for you.

Which product is the strongest and offers the greatest teeth whitening? Most of the products have a level of whitening indicated on the box. The higher the level, the stronger the product. The strongest product offers the best teeth whitening experience. Please bear in mind that the strongest products might cause sensitivity so if you have never tried Crest 3D Whitestrips we recommend starting with a lower level.

Crest Products and Sensitivity

As with any teeth whitening system that contains peroxide, teeth/gum sensitivity may temporarily develop when using Crest 3D Whitestrips. Some people may experience tooth sensitivity or gum discomfort when using this or other whitening products. We recommend changing from everyday use to every second day use to give your teeth time to adjust. If the sensitivity continues, pause for a few days, and then restart the treatment. If the problem persists, discontinue use.

In case of sensitive teeth or gum irritation we recommend using the specially designed strips for sensitive teeth like Sensitive Bright, Sensitive White, Sensitive, Gentle Routine. Or try other products like Crest Whitening Emulsions and Serum which designed for sensitive teeth.

Other factors that may contribute to discomfort are:

A) brushing too hard and or more than twice a day
B) using a hard to medium bristled toothbrush after whitening your teeth.

We recommend using soft-bristled toothbrush or an electric toothbrush with a sensitivity brush head.

Using whitestrips

How do I use 3D Whitestrips? Avoid brushing immediately before use to minimize the risk of gum irritation. Open the pouch and peel off the backing layer before applying in line with the gum line. Press gently and evenly for a treatment that works all over.

What happens if I miss a treatment in my cycle? It is safe to skip a treatment. This will not cause any negative effect on the teeth whitening process. It is however recommended to stick to your daily use for best results.

Can I reuse an old strip? No, our strips are a one-use product with a carefully calibrated amount of whitening gel on each strip. If you were to re-use a strip, then it would not only be ineffective, it would also be detrimental to your dental hygiene.

If I wear the strips for longer than 30 minutes, will my smile be even brighter? Excessive wear time can result in tooth and gum sensitivity. For best results it is recommended you stick to the stated treatment duration.

When can I brush my teeth when using my strips? For best results, avoid brushing immediately before use.

When can I brush my teeth after using my strips? Brush gently in a circular motion at all times, and if necessary this can be immediately after using your strips.

Can I store my whitestrips in the refrigerator or freezer? Storing Crest 3D Whitestrips in a refrigerator is fine, however, storing them in your freezer is not recommended and will cause them to become fragile, and or brittle.

Will using whitestrips help me to remove smoking stains? Smoking stains can take longer to remove, so patience may be required if you are a longtime smoker. In addition, if you continue to smoke after treatment then your smile will lose its shine much faster.

Can I smoke while wearing whitestrips? This should be avoided as it will dislodge your strips and cause an uneven and ineffective treatment.

Can I use Crest 3D Whitestrips on my back teeth? No, this is not recommended. Whitestrips are designed to fit the upper and lower front teeth only. They are not designed for use at the back of the mouth, and so will frequently come loose during attempted treatments.

Can I cut my Whitestrips into smaller pieces? No, this is strongly unrecommended. If you were to attempt to do this, then we cannot guarantee that the treatment would be effective, or that the damaged whitestrips would stay in place safely.
